NURTURING THE EARTH THROUGH YOUR WEDDING BUSINESS

When I had my wedding business, I was very conscious of the impact we have on the environment, especially as we were florists! The amount of waste, both natural and man made was crazy! Then there was the carbon footprint of the product, so many flowers are now imported to keep our couples happy, eg. peonies when they're out of season here flown in from Europe.

Welcome to our Eco-Ethical Bundle with Sandra Henri!

When I had my wedding business, I was very conscious of the impact we have on the environment, especially as we were florists! The amount of waste, both natural and man made was crazy! Then there was the carbon footprint of the product, so many flowers are now imported to keep our couples happy, eg. peonies when they’re out of season here flown in from Europe. Add onto that the chemicals used to protect the flowers from pests or the imports which were even more heavily sprayed to kill anything alive on them.

I did my best with my situation, but I often felt guilty about it. As you’ll hear Sandra say, you don’t have to be perfect, the most important contributions you can make are the small every day ones and keep improving and adding to your eco-ethical habits and routines.

Sandra shares some wonderful advice on how to transition to being an Eco-ethical supplier as well as some case studies in Video 2 that will inspire you.

“You cannot get through a single day without having an impact on the world around you. What you do makes a difference and you have to decide what kind of difference you want to make.” – Jane Goodall
